Synchronised
Skating - The New Force In Figure Skating |
If
you're looking for something different that is social, fun and
challenging, synchronised skating may be for you. We have beginners
and more advanced teams. Synchronised skating debuted at the World
Figure Skating Championships in America in 2000. Australian teams
have already competed internationally.
A
Synchronised Skating team comprises 12-16 skaters, all working
in unison to present manoeuvers of varying degrees of complexity.
In some respects
it's similar to synchronised swimming, but is very much faster,
and we think more exciting.
Our
teams are always on the lookout for new skaters. If you have been
skating for some time and feel you would like to give "Synchro"
a try please enquire at our reception.

| About | Infusion won bronze at Nationals in August
2009. This is the first medal a junior team from WA has
one in 10 years. Junior teams have existed in WA from 1989.
Infusion was formed in 2004 to further develop synchronized
skating in WA and to provide somewhere for Novice skaters
to go once they become to old to skate with Jitterbugs.
Junior Teams are now eligible to compete internationally
if they are up to standard. This is a goal all skaters must
aim towards for the years to come. WA‘s past Junior
teams have won gold, silver and bronze at various National
Championships prior to 2000. The team currently has 19 skaters..
| Prerequisites | Junior
Synchro is open to all skaters aged 14+ but they must be
working towards Elementary 1 or 2. All skaters must have
completed the Learn to Skate program, and must have passed
their Preliminary Test and Elementary 1 Pattern before being
eligible to compete at State or National Level. Junior is
required to perform two programs, a Short Program based
on required formations and elements, and a Free Program
based more on presentation and creativity.
| Coaches | Infusion is coached by Genevieve
Faulkner and Kelley McArthy.

|
| About | Introducing our Infusion senior squad!

in 2000.
