The Sam Hurst Memorial Game
Sunday March 24, 2013
Redhawks defeated Blackhawks 8-3
Funds Raised: $7274.05
The Sam Hurst Memorial Game was a huge success, with $7274.05 raised for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This was a special year, a year in which Sam would have turned 21.
In addition to a great ice hockey game (well done to the Redhawks), we were lucky enough to have Make-A-Wish come aboard to help with the night's proceedings. Rambo and Flossy told some heartwarming stories of how funds raised from events like these make children's wishes come true.
Infusion performed an up beat synchronised skating routine to Christina Aguilera's 'Candyman', lifting skaters up into the air and dazzling the crowd!
Auctions and raffles (thanks to our donors) were very successful - we hope the Samsung split system air conditioner and the West Coast Eagles signed guernsey are enjoyed by their new owners.
Cockburn Ice Arena would like to thank everybody who got involved, from sponsors and prize donors, to spectators, players and volunteers, and most of all the Hurst family.
The Sam Hurst Memorial Game is a great event, and something we look forward to every year. Thanks again!
