Little Tackers. The best ice hockey players are undoubtedly the ones that start young. We make it FUN!
Little Tackers are what we call our under 8s, and we have a structured ice hockey program aimed at turning the youngsters into game ready ice hockey machines! Little Tackers is a progressive program for under 8s that introduces skills with an emphasis on FUN, from beginners right up to club level players.
The path of the Little Tacker
1. LEARN TO SKATE
The very first step in your ice hockey journey is learning how to ice skate. A pass in NOVICE 1 here needs to be obtained before moving onto FUNdamentals.
2. FUNDAMENTALS
FUNdamentals is our Skate the Game program for under 8s. Elements are taught in a fun way with the introduction of game related exercises that keep the little ones entertained, while at the same time developing their skills! More…

3. SMALL AREA GAMES
Small Area Games, also known as SAGs, give the kids an opportunity to put their skills into practice in a game environment. SAGs have been proven to ensure a lot more touches of the puck, and a much faster learning curve compared to full ice games. More…

Little Tackers is for under 8s.
For children aged 8-11 check out our Atoms program.
For children aged 12+ and adults check out our Skate the Game program.

Full gear is required for Small Area games:

WHAT’S INCLUDED
- 10 x 60 minute weekly lessons
- admission to the rink
- free entry to the Stick ‘n’ Puck session
on Thursdays at 3:45pm for the entire term - unlimited access to general sessions

Monday 5:45pm – 6:45pm
Wednesday 4pm – 5pm
Saturday 12:30pm – 1:30pm
