ICE HOCKEY SUMMER SCHOOL

With Hockey Summer School.
This 4-week short course keeps skaters on the ice between Term 4 and 1, to help strengthen what has been taught in Term 4. Lessons are 60 minutes long and will be broken down into two 30 minute sections. The first section will focus on skills ‘n’ drills, then skaters will be split into groups and we will finish off with some small area games.
Players will not be evaluated during Hockey Summer School. This program also includes unlimited access to general sessions on Rink 1, for the entire January School Holidays.

Hockey Summer School

AGE RANGE
Ice hockey lessons are available for both children and adults. Ice Hockey Summer School is suitable for children aged 4+, however there can be exceptions. Things to consider are:
- your child’s attention span (lessons are 60 minutes)
- your child’s balance
- willingness to take instruction from another adult
WHAT’S INCLUDED
- 4 x 60 Minute weekly lessons
- Admission to the rink
- Free regular skate hire
- Unlimited access to general sessions on Rink 1
between the 6th and the 27th of January
REQUIREMENTS
A pass in NOVICE 2 of our Learn to Skate program is required in order to join the Ice Hockey Academy.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
We also have a limited number of skateboard style knee and elbow guards available. If you have some, please bring your own.
For Skate the Game, which is the first unit of the program, the following is required. If you need to, you can borrow a hockey stick and a helmet:

LESSON DAYS
The following timeslots are available for Hockey Summer School. Your 60 minute weekly lesson will take place within that timeslot on your chosen day.

Synchro Development Summer School
9 January – 30 January 2021
AGE RANGE
For skaters aged 7 through to adults.
REQUIREMENTS
You must have your own skates and be competent in:
- forward crossovers
- backward crossovers
- Waltz three turns
- mohawks
These elements are taught in the STROKING and FOOTWORK levels of Learn to Skate.
ABOUT
This course is the bridge between Learn to Skate and joining a Synchro team.
