Ice skating lessons for toddlers
We call our ice skating classes for 3 year old and 4 year old children ‘Learn to Skate – Parent & Child Classes’. These classes are delivered in a fun and engaging style, and takes the parent and child through a series of basic skill levels, preparing them to go into ice hockey, figure skating, synchronised skating or recreational skating.

The right age for a child to start ice skating: things to consider
1. Your child’s attention span
Consider the attention span of your toddler. Even though lessons are delivered in a fun and engaging style, classes run for 25 minutes.
2. Whether your child can keep balance
Classes begin with simple marching exercises, and gradually progress. A good starting point is assessing your child’s balance on the ground in shoes. After that, try walking in skates off the ice.
3. Willingness to accept instructions from another adult
Although our lessons are for both you and your child, your toddler needs to be comfortable with accepting instructions from the coach.

LTS Parent & Child Classes are designed for children aged 3-4 and a parent. For skaters aged 5+ check out our Learn to Skate program.

LESSON DAYS
The following timeslots are available for Learn to Skate. Your 25 minute weekly lesson will take place within that timeslot on your chosen day.
Monday 4pm – 4:30pm
Lesson dates: 12, 19, 26 October; 2, 9, 16, 23 November; 7, 14 December.
No lesson on 30 November due to the Australian Figure Skating Championships.
Wednesday 4pm – 4:30pm
Lesson dates:14, 21, 28 October; 4, 11, 18, 25 November; 9, 16 December.
No lesson on 2 December due to the Australian Figure Skating Championships.
Saturday 8:45am – 9:15am
Lesson dates: 17, 24, 31 October; 7, 14, 21 November; 5, 12, 19 December.
No lesson on 28 November due to the Australian Figure Skating Championships.
Sunday 9am – 9:30am
Lesson dates: Lesson dates: 18, 25 October; 1, 8, 15, 22 November; 6, 13, 20 December.
No lesson on 29 November due to the Australian Figure Skating Championships.
