2021 House League
House League is open for anyone in Play the Game 2 & Division 3. Unfortunately FIFO & Division 2 players will not be accepted into this season of House League.
This season is capped at 4 teams which equates to: 56 players and 4 goalies.

- Draft night on the 24th of May at 8pm
- 10 weeks of games, including finals on 2nd of August
- 2 Man officiating

How to start playing ice hockey
1. Learn to ice skate with confidence
If you are brand new to the world of ice sports, learning to skate is the first step. In order to play ice hockey, you will need to be able to stop, start and turn with ease. Usually one term of our Learn to Skate program will get you ready for the next step.
2. Join the Cockburn Ice Hockey Academy
Learn to play ice hockey over four comprehensive units:
Ice Hockey: Basics
Ice Hockey: Skating With Speed
Play the Game 1
Play the Game 2
3. Sign up for House League Ice Hockey
House League hockey runs for most of the year, and is the best way to get games under your belt. It is available to join once you are at Play the Game 2 of our Ice Hockey Academy.
4. Join the Hawks Ice Hockey Club
If you have been advancing through the Ice Hockey Academy, your name will be put forward to the Hawks Ice Hockey Club, and you may be invited to attend tryouts or training.

REQUIREMENTS
To be able to participate in XHL, you need to meet the following requirements:
- Born between 2003 – 2012
- Playing at the club level or;
- Have passed Play The Game 2 the Cockburn Ice Areana Ice Hockey Academy.
SEASON FORMAT
Games per Night: 2
Game Format:
- 2 × 12-minute run-time periods per game
- No offside, no icing, penalty shots replace penalty minutes
- Fast-paced, skill-driven hockey designed for development and fun
Season Dates & Times:
- 5:15 -6:15 PM – Junior B
- 6:15 – 7:15 PM – Junior A
- Combine (Evaluation) Session – October 16
- Scrimmage Night – October 23
- Regular Season – October 30 to December 18
