Easter Hockey Camp – Ages 13 to 18

About the Camp

This camp will see Matti Luoma, Charlie Smart, and guest coach Barry Jones from NRG Hockey Academy, run a fun filled and skill packed Easter hockey camp. This camp will include,

• Full fundamental skating
• Stick skills
• Hockey game development
• Hockey IQ
• Small Area Games (SAGs)
• Neutral and offensive zone strategies

Don’t be left on the bench on game day!

This camp includes 1 hour of devoted time for goalies each day with Charlie Smart, and time in the group for the rest of the day.

Coaches

Matti Luoma: Head Ice Hockey Academy coach, current head coach of the Australian Men’s National team, with years of coaching experience and a university degree in teaching ice hockey.
Charlie Smart: Represented Australia in last 4 IIHF World Championships as a goalie.
Barry Jones: Director of NRG Hockey Academy, experienced IHA coach.

Open to

Skaters aged 13 to 18, who are either:

• CIA Hockey Academy players in Play the Game 1 or higher
• Club level players and goalies from any club

What’s Included

• 12 hours of ice time
• 5 hours off ice training
• Children will be supervised the whole time, so they can be dropped off by parents

Camp Schedule

Tuesday 19th – Friday 22nd April

• 9:00am: Drop off for warm up
• 9:30am – 11am: Ice Practice 1 – Individual skills and small area games
• 11:15am – 12:30pm: Off ice training, hockey videos, hockey quiz’s and other fun group tasks
• 12:30pm – 1pm: Lunch break with Sasha and Matti
• 1:30pm – 3pm: Ice Practice 1 – Focus on SAGs*
• 3pm – 3:30pm: Parent pick up

*Please note Thurs/Friday 1:30-3pm both weeks will be dedicated to full-ice games.

What to bring

• Full ice hockey gear required
• All players need to bring a packed lunch daily
• Bring dryland clothes, towel, a hat, water bottle and sneakers for some sessions in the park and dance studio

In the event of a participant being unable to attend due to COVID-19, credits or refunds will be  applied.
