This camp is open to anyone aged 6+ and will be divided into groups. The minimum skill level required is a pass in Ice Hockey Academy: Skate the Game. Club level players from any club are welcome.

Age range and groups

Group 1 (6-12 years)  

  • Monday 17 April – Wednesday 19 April | 8.30am – 3.30pm

Group 2 (13–16-years) 

  • Monday 17 April – Wednesday 19 April | 8.30am – 3.30pm

Group 3 (Adults & 17+ years)  

  • Monday 17 April | 5.45pm – 7.45pm
  • Wednesday 19 April | 6.30pm – 9.00pm

Group 1 & 2 schedule

Group 1 Juniors (6-12 years) and Group 2 Juniors (13–16-years)

This camp will focus on improving players’ shooting and passing techniques. We will also focus on practising individual offensive and defensive tactics, such as driving to the net, gap control, scoring in close range, and fakes. Small group tactics will also be implemented to add to the skills learned throughout the week.

Groups 1 and 2 start Monday 17 April. Drop-off is 8.30am and pick-up is 3.30pm in Rink 2.

This schedule is the same for the three days.

Monday 17 April – Wednesday 19 April

  • 8.30am: Drop-off
  • 8.40am – 9am: Warm-up
  • 9.00am – 9.30am: Hockey gear on
  • 9.30am –10.45 am: Ice Practice 1
  • 11.15am – 12pm: Team games / dryland / classroom
  • 12pm – 12.45pm: Lunch break (supervised)
  • 1.15pm – 3.00pm: Ice practice 2
  • 3.15pm – 3.30pm: Cooldown
  • 3.30pm: Parent pick-up

WHAT TO BRING

  • Full ice hockey gear is required
  • A packed lunch (daily) and a water bottle
  • Dryland clothes, hat, and sneakers
  • A towel

Group 3 schedule

Group 3 Adults (17+ years)

The first evening sessions will introduce small group tactics and team play concepts. Wednesday’s session will focus on helping players apply the tactic and team play concepts from Monday’s session to game play and strategy. Concepts of breakouts and different types of forechecks are introduced.

Monday 17 April

  • 5.45pm – 6.15pm: Classroom session – Ballet Studio
  • 6.45pm – 7.45pm: Ice practice 1

Wednesday 19 April 

  • 6.30pm-7pm: Classroom session – Snow Room in Cafe
  • 7.30pm-9pm: Ice practice 2

Ville will join our camp for the Adult clinics with Vesa and Sasha. Ville is an ex-professional player and a hockey coach at CIA’s Ice Hockey Academy.
