$140 per day or $380 for three days

Eligibility:

  • Skaters who have passed the Learn to Skate Advanced level and up. View levels here.
  • Skaters who have completed Learn to Skate (or Aussie Skate).
  • Ages 6-17 years (Adults should enrol in the evening classes).

Description

Sean is back for Summer! When he was here, all the way from Sweden, last January, his camp was the most fun on ice we’d ever had. Come and join us again for Sean’s Summer Skating Camp!

This camp is an intensive way to level up your skating skills ready for the new year of skating! Each day you will work on edges, turns, jumps, spins. You’ll have some fun with the Power Skating which will help to make you stronger and faster on the ice. Skaters will also have a daily ballet class to improve their carriage, line, extension and musicality and an off ice session to develop your strength and jumps.

Daily schedule
8am – Drop off
8.15am – Off ice or Ballet class (groups are split according to age)
9.15am – On ice lesson
10.45am – Morning tea
11.15am – Off-ice or Ballet class
12.15pm – Lunch
12.45pm – Skating theory and fun quiz
1.15pm – On ice lesson
2.15pm – On ice lesson
3.15pm – Pick up

Coaches

Sean Abram

Sean has 32 years experience coaching in five different countries. He is currently coaching in Sweden where he has resided for the last nine years. Sean trained in the USA under Mr Don Laws and was Australian Senior Mens Silver Medalist, Junior Mens Champion (5x) and represented Australia five times at the Junior World Championships (1983 – 1987). Sean was the first Australian to win an International Competition at the 1985 Miner’s Lamp, an invitational competition in Poland.

Sean was a professional skater soloist for Holiday on Ice from 1998 – 2002 and Disney on Ice 1987 – 1992.

He is currently an International Technical Specialist for Figure Skating, Skate Sweden Education and Development Committee Member and renowned choreographer for Singles, Pairs and Synchronised Skating.

Kristin Secola

Kristin began skating at our original Cockburn Ice Arena when she was only 5. Her talent was quickly identified by coaches, Valentin Kadzevitch and Irina Starovskaya. She became a strong member of their very first talent development group in 1996.

Kristin’s classical extension style and impressive skating skills were appreciated by local and interstate judges alike. She made the podium for every skate in every competition she was apart of. Kristin went on to train in the USA to develop her skills further prior to returning to Perth to begin her professional career.

Now a sought after coach herself, Kristin will join Sean for the Summer Camp in 2024.

Angelique Yacopetti (Ballet)

Angelique began studying ballet at the age of 3 with Samantha Leeman at Academie Etoiles and later studied under former Principal dancer for the WA Ballet, Sergei Pevnev. She is currently a full-time ballet student at the Graduate College of Dance with Director, Nathan Coppen, former Principal dancer for the Royal Ballet. Angelique danced the Principal role in the 2021 Perth City Ballet production of the Red Shoes, directed by Diana Waldron.

Children will be supervised from arrival time at 8am to pick up time at 3.00pm

What to bring

  • Skate Guards
  • Skating & Work out clothes (Leggings, leotard, t-shirt etc.) Please do not wear baggy clothes as they do not allow the coaches or ballet instructor to correct your line and extension.
  • Socks (or ballet flats if you have them)
  • Athletic footwear for the warm up session
  • A piece of fruit or a healthy snacks for a quick bite between the on ice session and the ballet class
  • Lunch

In the event of a participant being unable to attend due to COVID-19, credits or refunds will be applied.
