Girls of Perth – come and hit a puck with us!
Come and try a sport in Perth with a difference! Join in the fun as we host a free ice hockey session for girls of all ages. You just might find that ice hockey is the coolest girls sport in Perth!
What is the World Girls’ Ice Hockey Weekend?
The IIHF World Girl’s Ice Hockey Weekend is a global initiative to encourage girls of all ages to try ice hockey. Rinks from all around the world participate, and invite girls from their area to take part in a world-wide ice hockey event!
Girls and women from around the world can:
- be introduced to basic skills in hockey in a positive, fun and safe environment.
- learn about opportunities in ice hockey in their community.
- learn about fair play, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
- meet new friends and have a chance to fall in love with a new sport.
This global womens’ sports event has been happening every year
since 2011! Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, many countries are unable to participate. We’re lucky here in WA to be able to host a Perth event for 2020.
World Girls’ Ice Hockey Day 2020
DATE & TIME
Saturday October 3 from 1:30pm – 3:30pm
WHAT TO BRING
- dress in layers and wear clothing that is easy to move in (no jeans)
- long pants and long sleeves are required
- bring a bike helmet if you have one, otherwise borrow one from us
- bring gloves if you have them
- bring a drink or water bottle
WHAT’S HAPPENING
- Learn the basics of ice hockey
- Take part in some fun on-ice activities
- meet players from the Perth Inferno womens’ team
- enjoy some light refreshments afterwards
